TaskDrop — Free WhatsApp Invoicing for UK Tradespeople.
It's why I built TaskDrop. This page is the unedited reason — what's wrong with the existing tools, what I'm doing differently, and what I've publicly committed to never do.

I'm not a tradesman. I'll get that out of the way first because most "built for tradies" software starts by lying about that.
I'm a UK sole trader. I built TaskDrop because I watched the invoicing software industry treat tradesmen like a captive market — and I got angry on your behalf.
You've been sold sleek dashboards designed for office workers. Forced into 14-day trials that auto-charge your account. Locked into annual contracts you can't escape mid-job. Told that "subscription plans are great, then watched basic features hide behind "Pro" upgrades that cost £39 a month. We built something different.
None of it was built for someone in a van at 5pm with grease on their hands. None of it was priced for someone who has good months and bad months. And almost none of it was honest.
So I built something that is.
Three specific patterns the invoicing industry uses against you. None of them are accidents — they're business decisions someone made on purpose, knowing you'd pay anyway because what else are you going to do.
None of these are bugs. They're the business model.
TaskDrop is free, forever. We earn £80/quarter when you submit an MTD return to HMRC. Invoicing and TaskDrop Pay are free forever. If you never use MTD, you'll never give us a penny. That's the whole deal. No asterisks.
I'm Owen. I'm a UK sole trader operating out of the North East. Not a Silicon Valley startup. Not a team of 20. Not a venture-backed scale-up. One person, one product, one bank account.
I file my own taxes. I chase my own invoices. I know what it's like to wonder when a client is finally going to pay. I'm not a tradesman, but I'm somebody who runs a small UK business — and that's enough to know what tradesmen need is software that respects them.

A list, in writing, of things I've publicly committed to never. If TaskDrop ever does any of these, point at this page and tell me I broke my word.
