The Problem

Why WhatsApp
Every UK tradesperson we spoke to already had WhatsApp. Already used it with customers. Already trusted it. It works with one hand, in gloves, from the back of a van. It doesn't need a login. It doesn't need a tutorial.
Building an invoicing tool that lives entirely inside WhatsApp meant there was nothing new to learn. If you can send a message to a customer, you can use TaskDrop. That's the whole idea.

Who Built It
TaskDrop was built by Owen-Nathaniel Moore, a sole trader based in Middlesbrough, UK. Not a Silicon Valley startup. Not a team of twenty. One person, who understood the problem firsthand, and built a solution that actually fits how tradespeople work.
It's operated as a UK sole trader business — the same legal structure as most of the people who use it. ICO registered, UK GDPR compliant, data stored in the EU.
What We Will and Won't Do
- ✓ We will Generate professional, HMRC-compliant invoices and quotes in under 60 seconds from WhatsApp. Handle CIS deductions, VAT calculations, and sequential reference numbering automatically. Keep digital records that satisfy MTD requirements. Send automatic payment reminders so you don't have to chase awkwardly.
- ✓ We will Be honest about what TaskDrop is. It's a document generation and record-keeping tool — not an accountant, not a replacement for proper accounting software, not a tax filing service. It gives your accountant clean data instead of a shoebox.
- ✗ We won't Send an invoice your customer sees before you do. Every PDF comes back to you first. Wrong amount? Wrong customer? Just reply with the correction. Your customer only sees it when you forward it.
- ✗ We won't Make cancellation difficult. Message MANAGE in WhatsApp or visit the billing portal. Your subscription ends at the close of the current billing period. No exit fees, no awkward calls, no dark patterns.
- ✗ We won't Replace your accountant. TaskDrop handles the day-to-day paperwork between visits — income records, expense logging, mileage, quarterly CSV exports. The advisory, planning and tax filings stay with your accountant.
