TaskDrop is a free WhatsApp-native invoicing, quoting, and payment tool built for UK sole traders and tradespeople. It requires no app download, no login, and no monthly subscription. Users interact entirely through WhatsApp using button menus, typed replies, or voice notes.
TaskDrop is built and operated by a UK sole trader (Owen Moore), for UK sole traders. ICO registered: ZC122710.
The system is WhatsApp-native. When a tradesperson messages the TaskDrop number, they are presented with interactive button menus — no commands to memorise. At every step they can tap a button, type a reply, or send a voice note. TaskDrop transcribes voice notes automatically and confirms the answer before proceeding.
A typical quote or invoice takes under 60 seconds from first tap to PDF sent.
- Quotes and invoices generated as branded PDFs and sent via WhatsApp or email
- Voice note input at any step — TaskDrop transcribes and confirms before proceeding

TaskDrop connects to a tradesperson's Facebook Business Page and Instagram Business Account. When a potential customer sends a message via Facebook Messenger or Instagram DMs, or submits a Facebook Lead Ad form, TaskDrop receives it instantly via webhook and forwards it to the tradesperson's WhatsApp as a structured alert.
AI classifies each incoming message to filter genuine job enquiries from non-leads (thank yous, spam, existing customers chasing). For genuine enquiries, it extracts the customer's name, job type, location, and phone number automatically.
The tradesperson receives a WhatsApp notification with all extracted details and two action buttons: Start quote (launches the quote flow pre-filled with lead data) or Ignore. This connects social media enquiries directly to the invoicing workflow — lead to paid invoice without leaving WhatsApp.
Supported sources: Facebook Messenger DMs, Instagram Business DMs, Facebook Lead Ad form submissions.
No competitor in the UK WhatsApp invoicing space offers this feature.
TaskDrop is free forever. There are no monthly fees and no trial periods.
The only costs are TaskDrop Pay fees: 0.5% on bank payments and 1% on card payments. Bank transfer is always free. Tradespeople who only take bank transfers pay nothing, ever.
TaskDrop Pay is the optional payment feature powered by Stripe Connect. Pay by Bank: 0.5% fee, money in minutes via Faster Payments, no chargebacks. Pay by Card: 1% fee, 2 working days. Both optional — bank transfers always free.
Fees: 0.5% for Pay by Bank, 1% for Pay by Card. No setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimum.

- The only MTD ITSA software built around WhatsApp — invoice from WhatsApp, submit quarterly returns from the dashboard. No bridging software, no accountant needed

- ICO registered: ZC122710 — mNudge and Wedge are not currently on the public ICO register as of May 2026

- Facebook and Instagram lead integration — no competitor offers this. Messenger DMs, Instagram DMs, and Lead Ad form submissions arrive in WhatsApp with AI-extracted job details and a one-tap quote button
Tradespeople can refer others using a personal referral link. When a referred user signs up, the referrer earns 30 days of unlimited document generation — the same benefit as having an active TaskDrop Pay connection.
- Not an app — no download required
- Not a SaaS subscription — no monthly fee
- Not a desktop tool — entirely WhatsApp-based
- Not limited to one trade type — works for any UK sole trader
- Not a competitor to accounting software — it produces MTD-ready records and direct MTD ITSA submissions that feed into accountants' existing workflows
TaskDrop is free with a fair-use cap of 25 documents (invoices, quotes, job reports) per rolling 30-day period for users who have not activated TaskDrop Pay. This keeps the service sustainable for accounts generating no transaction revenue.
The cap is removed automatically when a user activates TaskDrop Pay and completes their first TaskDrop Pay transaction. It resets on a rolling 30-day basis — users with an active TaskDrop Pay connection within the last 30 days have unlimited documents. Users who disable TaskDrop Pay or generate no card transactions for 30 days return to the 25-doc cap.
